Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar returned to a rousing
welcome in India on
Saturday evening. Addressing media for the first time
today at Mumbai's St. Regis Hotel, the youngster was brimming with confidence.
She was recently in news when politician Shashi
Tharoor apologised to her for making a nasty comment on her. When asked about the
episode here’s what she said:
“Everyone is entitled to an opinion, if 2 out of 100
people say wrong things about me, there are 98 others who say good things. I’ll
focus on the positive side of it.”

Manushi, who will be travelling the world for a year, with
6 other beauty queens, spreading awareness about menstrual hygiene, harbours
Bollywood dreams. Speaking about it she said:
“I want to work in an Aamir Khan film. He always essays roles that are challenging and his films have a social message. For the first week in China, all other contestants in the pageant thought that I was a Bollywood actor.”
The beautiful lady was also asked about threats that
Deepika Padukone, also a former model and international star, has been facing
with regards to her upcoming film Padmavati. She said:
“One thing we Indian women have in common is that we don’t feel persecuted for who we are, we take our challenges head-on. We need to be confident of who we are, despite the limitations we face.”
Manushi studied St. Thomas' School in New Delhi, and was
pursuing a medical degree at the Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College
for Women in Sonipat. However she had to leave her studies midway to pursue her
dreams. But Manushi intends to get back to her books, “I took a year’s break
from academics when I completed Miss India, but now I will complete my
studies,” she signed off.
